Twas the Day Before Christmas
Merry Christmas everyone! It has been a busy few days at our family's home. Mom & Dad tell me I haven't seen anything yet. Anyway, here is what has been going on in the past couple of days.
My dad says I am getting SO big! He needs a small reality check however; we are talking ounces here. Here is a body update:
But, my eyes are focusing much better.
My "newborn" clothes are fitting much more snuggly. I am starting to wear some 0 - 3 months.
When I was at the doctor a couple of weeks ago, I weighed 6 lbs. 13 oz. I'm sure I weigh well over 7 lbs. by now.
My skin is dry. Look, I was very comfortable living in fluid in my mom 24/7 and now I am in this dry air. I need some time to adjust.
My nose is already growing. Have you seen my parents? ;-)
I am taking many more "wee wees" in my diaper.
My color looks good. All jaundice is now gone.
My tear ducts in my eyes are almost fully healed.
I still have some very small, white bumps on my nose. (They look like small zits) They are going away slowly.
I have long fingers (in which I WILL grab anything that touches them) and long feet. Mom & Dad think I am going to be tall.
Want some insight into my mom? Study this fact: in my 22 days in existence, I've been to Steak n' Shake 3 times already! She says their grilled cheese, fries, and a shake are like a magnet.
I met my Grammy's (Dad's mom, Lois) family on Saturday in Mitchell, IN. There were a lot of other kids there! It was fun to meet everyone and to be oooohed and aaaahed to by everyone.
Do you remember in second grade when you were at lunch drinking your milk and someone told a funny joke? Well, a similar story happened to me a couple of days ago. I was drinking my milk from my mom and I guess I was half asleep, but still drinking. Anyway, I guess I was full because some milk started coming out of my NOSE! After making sure I was ok, my dad laughed for a long time. I hope he knows that we WILL pay for these little outbursts one day.
Guess what else I did yesterday? I went to my first movie! Lord of the Rings no less! I looked at the back of my eyelids most of the time, but it was extra fun because my Uncle Bryan held me throughout most of the movie. (His chest has a lot more padding than my dad's) ;-)
Tomorrow is the big day when lots of visitors start to arrive for Christmas. I hope someone buys me some shoulder pads so I can help out the Colts for their last 2 games. (Yes, they lost again last night even though I stayed up with Dad & Uncle Bryan to watch it)
Finally, I'll leave you with the latest on my pees and poops. I'm still successfully pooping RIGHT after my dad gets the new diaper on me. I'm going to hang on to this one for a while. But there was one good one the other day I'll tell you about. Mom & Dad were tag-teaming me and I just had a little bit of poopy in my diaper. Dad thought "no big deal" and had a cloth diaper on top of my pee pee so he didn't get any wee wee. (It rhymes) At the critical point, right AFTER he wiped my behind, my legs up, I RIPPED a good one. But here is my dad, all cool and collected grabs the cloth diaper and holds it against my bum. Just as he was bragging to Mom about how he caught it and that none of my poopy got on him, I jumped to plan B. I started peeing what my dad said must have been 3 FEET in the air! You see, in the struggle to stop my poopy with the cloth diaper, it left me exposed to fire from the front. The best part is that Mom was right there in the diaper-changing position and once the pee started to squirt, she wasn't very quick. BUT she dodged to the side instead of back and I followed her! Mom and Dad both ran into the living room because they were so afraid and laughing so hard. I'm glad they have a sense of humor.
I'll write again later and let you know how Christmas day evolved.
