Out of the House
Talk about attention; my parents never seem to stop staring at me and telling me how cute I am. What did they expect?
Things are going pretty well. I am STILL receiving lots of nice cards, e-mails, and presents. There must be a lot of people out there who like me already.
I visited my doctor for the first time today. (I finally got out of the house) She is very nice. She told me I still have a little jaundice, however. Some nice people from the hospital will deliver some special lights to my house later today so I can work on my tan. I hope my parents will take me to Disney World soon since I will already have some sun. Anyway, they tell me that Jaundice is a common condition in newborns. It refers to the yellow color of the skin and whites of the eyes caused by excess bilirubin in the blood. The doctor tested my blood again today. (I'll get my dad back one day for holding my foot as the nurse pricked my heel.) I tested at a level of 17.6.
My mom & dad had a "duh" moment at the doctor when they asked why my pee was always in the back of the diaper and on the back of my clothes. The doctor laughed and explained to them that covering the front of my diaper with Vaseline (which I appreciate so my diaper doesn't stick to my wee wee) was repelling water, so the diaper couldn't soak up the urine. After another week and a half, they can cut out the Vaseline so I can dry again.
Oh Yeah! Wait until you hear this! That peeing trick I pulled on my parents the other day worked so well that I decided to try it at the doctor. I even heard my dad tell the nurse she better be careful while pulling the diaper off. She must not have heard him because she left me a little opening as she pulled off my diaper and WHOOSH, I let the wall have it. For some reason, my dad stopped later and bought himself some goggles, a mouthpiece, and a shower cap.
I am excited that my Bovitz grandparents and great-grandma will be here soon to visit and meet me. Word on the street is that my Grandpa Bovitz is a "special" guy. I don't know what people mean by that. I've also heard that he tells lots of jokes, but I haven't heard that he is funny. We'll see.
Some neighbors and friends are helping my mom & dad by bringing over dinners and lunches. I guess my mom was getting kind of tired of eating grilled cheese at every meal.
Mom & Dad seem to be a little tired during the day. I don't know why they didn't want to play with me from 10:00 p.m. to 3:00 a.m. last night. They seem boring that way. I'll keep trying.
Talk to you again soon!
