Sunday Afternoon Special Edition! - The Other End
I knew it. My parents are catching on to this diaper thing. They bought Huggies instead of the generic brand. Do you think that stopped me? Let me tell you about it. . .
Mom & Dad took me to the pediatric emergency room this afternoon to check the progress of my jaundice. I feel bad for the nurse because she was very nice, but I was on a mission to prove a point to my parents that new diapers weren't going to stop me. The nurse even helped me out by taking my temperature in my behind instead of under my arm. So as soon as she finished taking out the thermometer, SQUIRT! I pushed out from the other end and immediately made a big mess! But here's the best part; this was not a one-shot deal. I kept it going for what must have been two whole minutes! My dad was doing that "circle" dance he loves doing and started scrambling in the diaper bag for a paper bag in which to hide. I squirted my poopy on the bed pads, the sheets, the sheet the nurse used to sign us in, and I even squirted some on the floor. Dad measured, and it was about a 30-inch shot. He said he was impressed. 15 minutes later, after cleaning up and changing my t-shirt, outfit, and diaper, we finally went back to complete the test.
This nurse was also very nice, but she chose a needle that was too small to prick my heel, so she couldn't get enough blood. Therefore, we had to do it twice. The pain didn't bother me too much after the initial shock. Dad held my hand, and Mommy tried not to pass out. ;-)
Once we got home, our doctor called and said that my jaundice had decreased by 5 points so it was getting better. I'll bet she will let me stop wearing my "bili-blanket" when I visit her tomorrow.
I'll write more articles soon!
