Family Galore

Sorry this edition is a little late, but I've been a little busy lately. First of all, I turned 4 months old this week. Today I went to the doctor. I weigh 16 pounds 2 ounces, and I am 25 1/2 inches long.
We went down to Evansville on Friday to celebrate Easter weekend. It was a lot of fun. We even had our own Easter Bunny right out front of Aunt Amy's house... that is, until my cousin Justin tried to chase him away. Justin is so cool. He got to color eggs all by himself. I had to sit in the other room with my mommy & Uncle Charlie. At Easter Mass, Justin wanted to play in the "wa-wa" (water), but all I wanted to do was eat. We both had to leave the church a little early to go hang out in the back. I had a great time with my family.
But it wasn't over yet. We came back to Indy on Monday so I could spend some time with my Nonna on her Spring Break. Who needs Florida when you've got your Nonna & GG? We smiled, played, and watched my Baby Einstein video together. I'm learning how to count & say the ABCs in different languages. I don't really understand it all yet, but I like to see the toys and other stuff that go across the TV screen. I sit in my bouncy and kick and laugh!
Yesterday I got to meet the Bergins. They came over to visit. They were in town from Virginia. Alec is 6 months old. He is sitting up. He gave me some incentive to keep trying. It'll be fun to be able to be big like him.
Today I went to lunch with our friend Emily Cahill. We had a nice time. I enjoyed the Mexican food for dinner... YUM!
I'm hoping it gets warm again soon for good so I can go on walks and maybe to the park with some of my older friends.
Talk to you again soon!

An Ordinary Week
Thursday, April 11, 2002
This week I've been busy helping Daddy and "Uncle Fred" fix the Winter family's screened in porch. I got to use some of the tools Nonna gave me for Christmas. Ha ha! Don't I wish. Actually I was stuck inside with my mom. Maybe one of these days....
I'm getting better at my sitting up. My breastfeeding group is the best place to practice because I have LOTS to see. I like looking at all the other kids. This week I practiced my flirting skills on the girl sitting next to us. She was hooked!
We got a GREAT roll of pictures developed yesterday! You just have to check them out!
Other than that, I've just been hanging out with Daddy & Mommy.
Talk to you again soon!

Grandparents & MORE Grandparents
Monday, April 22, 2002
Yes, I fell behind on my writing. What's a boy to do?! I've been busy. My parents have been running me ragged. I finally have a little time to breathe... and what's the first thing I do? Noah Times, of course.
So, I have two weeks for which to account... here goes!
Last weekend I went to Columbus to see Nonna, Grandpa & GG. I had a blast. There were all different types of toys over there. I played and played with my Nonna & GG. They think I am quite funny. I also got to sit in my Johnny Jumper and get acquainted with my "Uncle Pipper" (GG's dog... hehehe). I can tell we are going to be fast friends when I get a little older.
I also got to see our friend Brandon. There's a GREAT pic of him and me on my photos page! He was very proud to be able to hold me and carry me around the house. He talks about me all the time to the people at his house.
Then Mommy & I went out to lunch with her friends with whom she used to teach. They both have kids now too! We are all close in age. In a few months, its going to be interesting to see if they are still going to be able to meet for lunch without utter chaos!
During the week I was busy helping Mommy with all kinds of projects. We mowed the lawn & vacuumed the house... and more. I am a very good helper.
This weekend we had lots of visitors. Grammy and Grandpa came along with Aunt Amy, Uncle Tom & JUSTIN! On Saturday we went to witness the BIG event. My grandpa rode FAST in one of the Nascar racing cars around the track. BOY, did he have a lot of fun. He wore a funny looking jumpsuit, too. It was noisy, but as always, I was VERY well behaved.
Later that day, we went to the park for my very first time. I got to go down the slide with Grammy. That was a lot of fun. Justin had a good time too. He really likes the slides. He tried every one.
On Sunday I got to go to two of my favorite places... Target and Steak & Shake. I was really sad when Grammy and the crew had to leave.
Today I plan on getting LOTS of rest!!!
Talk to you again soon!

Learning Lots & Lots
Tuesday, April 30, 2002
This has been a BIG week! I am learning all sorts of neat things. The best thing is... now I can get my pacy (pacifier) back in my mouth by myself! OK... I can do it SOME of the time. I can get it OUT of my mouth all of the time. Sometimes that causes a little conflict, but it is easily resolved by putting my pacy back in my hand so I can try it all over again. Man, learning is fun!
I am really working on my hand-eye coordination. Laying down, I start with my arms spread out on the floor. Mommy brings an object closer & closer, and I bring my hands together to try and get it. If I do, yummy... in my mouth it goes. When it falls out, we start it all over again. I can study objects much more intensely now too. I'm doing my best to figure out this complex world.
Another thing that I've learned is that if Mommy or Daddy disappear behind a door or around a corner or I disappear under my burp cloth (Daddy's favorite) then they really aren't gone... they are still there... and they come back. This is a big revelation for me, and it makes for some fun games of peek-a-boo! I kept Daddy pretty occupied all weekend playing more & more peek-a-boo. I thought it was very funny. You would too if you knew how hard it was to keep Daddy occupied.
I still LOVE to talk. I can say something very closely resembling hi. I experiment with all sorts of sounds.
Mommy says if the weather is nice on Thursday we are going to the zoo for my very first time. Sounds fun. I hope to see some of the animals that Nonna put in my ark that's in my room.
This weekend I am heading to Miami (which was a University BEFORE Florida was even a state) to see my Aunt Katie graduate. It's in Ohio. The WHOLE clan is going to be there... including my Great Nana & Gramps who I haven't met yet. My two uncles will be there too all the way from Washington (the state)! And don't forget (who can?) Nonna, Grandpa & GG. WOW!
I'll let you know how it goes. Talk to you again soon!
