Well, Mommy & Daddy have pretty much wised up to my diaper games. I don't get them nearly as much as I used to. SO.... I've had to change tactics... and ends! Now I am working on my spitting up. It just wouldn't be as fun to hit that burp rag they keep slinging over their shoulders. I wait until they give up burping me, and then I let it go. If I'm good, I can get it all over the outfit Mommy JUST put on me. If I'm even better... I can get it all over Mommy & Daddy. (I'm better most of the time :) Mommy had already upped the laundry schedule to twice a week. I'm going for three!
Daddy has been working on some video editing with the new camera we received for Christmas. He is having so much fun. I figure I might give him some good video footage to help out. We also have some new pictures, so make sure to check them out!
Mommy taught herself to knit this week. First coasters and soon sweaters for me to wear. I figure she'll be at the sweater stage just in time for summer. She got the idea from the beautiful sweater my Aunt Sara made for me for Christmas. I just kept getting so many compliments about it.
I am becoming much more aware. My favorite thing these days is to watch Mommy and Daddy walk around the room. Someone has got to keep an eye on them! I am smiling at them much more often, too... but the smiles still seem to elude the camera. (Boy, am I good!)
Today, I will watch the Super Bowl with my dad. I'm rooting for New England. I've been practicing my cheering all day by doing a little extra grunting. My mom & dad didn't think I could grunt even more during the day... but if you haven't seen the pattern yet, they keep underestimating me.
I go to the doctor on Friday afternoon. I'll let you know how it goes. All I know is that people keep mentioning "shots", and every time they do, they grimace. What does that mean?
Talk to you again soon!

My dad & I had become good buds. I sleep through the night, I stopped peeing on him, I smile at him, and I'm even cute. So WHAT WAS HE THINKING on Friday?!
He and mom took me to the doctor and everything was cool. The doctor told Mom & Dad I weigh 12 pounds and am 22 1/2 inches tall. (Average for my age) I think we are getting ready to leave, and all of a sudden, my dad starts holding my hands and telling me everything is going to be ok. Ok? I wondered what he was talking about and why he wanted to hold my hands instead of busting out of there.
Then, quicker than my dad can say "I want ice cream," I felt this needle drive right into my cute little thighs. It had to have been at least 12 inches long! (Well, it seemed like it anyway) Of course, I start crying and yelling baby obscenities at Dad for letting this happen. But then, ANOTHER one! Even worse, there were 2 more for a total of 4! (2 in each thigh) All I can say is that Dad better make some big deposits into the "love bank" if he expects to be back "in the black" one day.
In other not-so-great news, my mom is feeling sick. She has had a sore throat for a couple of days now and seems to be napping a lot. I hope she feels better soon. (I think Dad does too)
But in much better news, my Nonna Donna, Grandpa Clown, and Gigi Jordan visited me for the weekend. I love it when they visit! They all wanted to hold me all the time, which was okay with me. I kept the carrot dangling by smiling at them every once in a while.
Dad is spending lots of time in front of the computer at home making mini movies of me. He is even burning CDs with his new CD-RW drive.
Pictures I've seen indicate that I look like my dad's baby pictures. I also look like my Grandpa Schenk's baby pictures. (Check it out!) But my dad and his dad don't seem to look very much alike so we will see where it will take me. Hopefully, I will look more like my mom. :-) My "slate" eyes have turned blue. We'll see if they stay that way or not.
My dad has been playing a game with me all day. He makes that buzzing sound and moves his finger all over the place. I watch his finger, then after a few seconds, his finger touches my nose, and my dad makes a "pop" noise. I know it seems kidlike, but it makes me smile.

Last night I did it! I slept from about 9:30 to a little before 5 without needing to eat. Boy, do I feel rested this morning. I am a happy boy. I just keep smiling at my mom. She's pretty happy, too. I almost tricked her by waking up at 1:00, but she thought that was a little weird since I had been waking up more around 3, so she gave me my pacy (short for pacifier... pronounced passy) & I went right back to sleep. Is it time to ask for some new toys while I have her on my good side?
Naptime is a little different story. We are into a pretty good 3-hour routine during the day. I wake up & eat. Then I play for about an hour to an hour and a half. Then I sleep again for the rest of the time. Well... I don't REALLY sleep for the rest of the time. I play a little game with Mommy... after all, she keeps talking about those post-pregnancy pounds... I am just helping her out with her exercise program. After I had slept for about 30 minutes to an hour, I woke up. Now, I am still tired, mind you, but who cares? I cry because somehow, while I was sleeping, that pacy got away from me. I want it. So Mommy (she really is nice) runs up the stairs (see exercise!), puts it back in, and then goes downstairs. Now for the game part. I wait a few minutes, then let the pacy get away from me again, so Mommy has to come put it back in. I might do this several times. Sometimes Mommy gives up & figures I really am just not tired anymore... so she picks me up to bring me downstairs to play. I wait until we get downstairs on my blanket, then I close my eyes for more sleep. Who needs a "Stairmaster" when you have me?
Lately, I have found these appendages that Mommy & Daddy keep calling hands. Every time I check, they are right where I left them at the ends of my arms. I've found that if I try very hard, I can use them to do many things. My favorite is still sticking them in my mouth when Mommy or Daddy wait a little too long to give me my pacy. I have also started using them to hit things on my overhead gym. It makes all sorts of fun sounds. This hand-eye coordination is a fascinating thing. Yesterday, I started to practice to hold things, too. I surprised Daddy when he came home, showing him how I could hold my rattle. He, of course, said how smart I am!
Monday night, I leave for my BIG trip. I am looking forward to riding in my first airplane. I know I can get into all kinds of mischief on my travels. I'll definitely let you know how it goes.

I am a born traveler! Last week, we went to Washington, DC, for the American Camping Association's National Conference. I rode three planes on my trip... without a peep. It was very fun. I got to sit in Mommy & Daddy's lap and look out the window at all the lights. Boy! People say I am little, but everything down there looked very small.
We got to D.C. on Monday night. Our hotel sure was fancy. People kept helping us with our bags, and Daddy kept shaking hands with them and giving them money. I hope when I get bigger and carry Daddy's bags, he'll line my palms with some cashola. Our hotel was BIG. We stayed on the 7th floor in a corner room with many windows. We were lucky. We didn't have much of a view, but the room was nice and bright and pretty.
On Tuesday & Wednesday, we stayed around the hotel and scoped things out. I helped my daddy with all his work. I must've done a great job because people kept coming up to me, smiling at me, and telling me how wonderful I was. Those camp people sure are friendly. I liked hanging out with my dad. He took me all over the place in my Baby Bjorn carrier.
On Thursday & Saturday, we rode the Metro (subway) and visited my mom's college friend, Suzan (Mrs. Sammons to me). We hung out at her house with her three daughters. They sure are cute. She didn't get to hold me very much, though, because Maria kept crying every time she tried. I think Maria has met my cousin Justin and it's a conspiracy.
On Friday we had lunch with one of my mom's oldest friends, Kelly. No, she's not 80 or anything... they've just been friends for over 20 years. She has a son named Jackson. Mom hopes I am as well-behaved in a restaurant as he was when I was 2 1/2. We drove to Georgetown and then walked around to see the sights.
On Sunday, Mommy & I went to downtown D.C. Unfortunately, I only saw the back of my eyelids. I just can't resist falling asleep a few minutes after Mommy starts wheeling me around in my stroller. Its so peaceful. I got my pictures taken with some of the monuments though. It was a beautiful day outside. All that sunshine made me sleepy.
Sunday night it was back to Indy. I am glad to be home.
