Happy New Year everyone! Tomorrow I will be 1 month old. My how time flies. My parents keep telling everyone I seem to get bigger every day. I like having more developed neck muscles so I can look around at everyone.
Well, 2001 came to a busy end. We had lots of fun visitors until yesterday afternoon and then we went to a New Year's party at the Winter's home. My parents tell me that they hope I remember what it is like to be awake and to entertain myself instead of having someone hold me constantly. I think the only time I was not in someone's arms in the past week was for the few hours I slept at night.
I am now a baptized Christian! My baptism was awesome, and I had lots of family and friends there. I was baptized during mass which was cool. Uncle Bryan even held me as I was placed in the baptismal font in my BIRTHDAY SUIT! I cried a little because the air was cold, but the water was warm. Father poured holy water on my head, and my life in the church began. My parents say I am truly blessed to have so many faith-filled family and friends to look for spiritual guidance when I'm older. Dad knows it is a cliché, but it does "take a village." (See pictures of the Baptism)
On the bathroom front. . . I've chilled out with my projectile poops, but I still get Dad with some pee pee when he least expects it. (Twice last night - he he he!)

Hi again everyone! I'm sorry it has taken me so long to write. My dad finally went back to work after taking the entire month of December off to spend time with Mom & me. I can use the keyboard and mouse, but my dad has to help me get in the chair. :-)
My parents have created some nicknames for me, like "cutie boy" and "sweet pea", but now they are starting to call me "grunt boy." They say ALL I do is grunt all the time. Well. . . it's sort of true. I grunt every few seconds during the day just to let my mom know I am still around and to ensure she keeps the milk supply close by. They also say I grunt all night which sometimes keeps them up. Look, if they wanted quiet, they should have bought a goldfish instead of having me.
I am sleeping for longer stretches during the night, however. Usually, about every 3 hours, I wake up and have some milk, but sometimes I can go for 4 or 5 hours. I hate seeing the bags under my dad's eyes when I keep him up.
Speaking of eyes, I finally have mine working much better. I think God gave me a pair of eyes that were a little "slow out of the gate." Now, I can not only see my parents from 6 feet away, but I can even follow them around the room! This makes it much more satisfying when I pee on Dad, so I can now SEE him run around in circles. ;-)
Speaking of pee, I've chilled out with my pranks lately. Every once in a while, I'll keep my dad honest though. (He is much more fun to pee on than my mom)
Remember a couple of weeks ago when I was starting to wear my 0-3 months clothes? I don't even fit in most of my newborn clothes anymore. At almost 9 pounds, I figure that with time in the weight room, I will be starting tackle for the Colts next year.
Spending the day at home with my mom is great. She loves me a lot. She even ordered 3 books from Amazon full of activities and games for my brain development. I don't think I really need them, but I will humor her.
I hope your new year is off to a great start! Talk to you again soon!

Daddy has been so busy at work lately (he has a lot to catch up on); today, Mommy has to help hold me up at the computer so I can type this out. I have to meet my deadlines, you know.
This weekend my daddy flew out to New Mexico to give a presentation for work. Wow, those airplanes look BIG! After we dropped him off at the airport, my mommy and I hit the road! We went to see my Nonna, Grandpa & G-G (Great-Grandma) in Columbus, Ohio for a weekend of spoiling.
Of course, Nonna held me as much as she could. She also bought me a few toys... they were "on-sale" of course! My mommy wasn't too pleased that they all made noise. I plan on making her days a little crazy as soon as I can figure out how to play with them on my own. I think it's a master plan by Nonna to get my mommy back for all the projectile spit-up & noisy days she gave Nonna.
I also got to meet a few of Mommy's friends. They are very nice. People must really like me. They smile at me a lot everywhere I go and talk to me in these silly, high-pitched voices. I am working on smiling back these days. I figure it's the least I can do.
We spent most of Saturday with Mom's and Dad's friend from Ohio, Brandon. He was very good to me. He liked to touch my fingers and toes... but he seemed to like to play on the computer even more. :-)
The trip wouldn't be complete without a visit to Mom's favorite restaurants... so we had dinner Saturday night at Piatza and stopped by Steak-n-Shake on the way home.
I was very good in the car. I figured I'd give Mommy a break on this one so I slept most of the time. I am waiting until it's my dad's turn, and then I will really get him good with all the tricks I can imagine.
We are planning two trips in the next month... one down to Evansville to meet the rest of my daddy's family and then a big one to Washington, DC the end of February. (I get to ride in one of those BIG airplanes I saw!) I'll let you know how it goes.
Talk to you again soon!

This weekend, I really began to smile. I spent most of my Saturday morning just smiling away at my daddy. I figure I'll rack up the points now, and maybe by the time I'm 16, he'll be ready to buy me that new car I want. Unfortunately, I was really tricky... and whenever he or Mommy got out of the camera, I stopped. They did FINALLY get that roll of film we've been working on developing, so you can check out some new pics of me on the photos page.
I am doing my parents a BIG favor by sleeping through the night. I only get up to feed once or twice. We are getting into a nice routine. Did you know my parents like to go to bed EARLY?? That's OK by me for now, because I like lots of sleep. So we go to bed around 9, I wake up at 1:30 hungry & then again at about 4:30 or so. Sometimes I'm nice to Mommy and wait until 5:30. (That's when I really want her to be in a good mood so we can play lots during the day.) I am a BIG boy now and sleep only in my crib in my nursery. I take my naps in there, too.
I am gaining weight nicely... as you will see by my pictures. Mommy guesses I am about 10 pounds now. Daddy says his arm fell asleep during church this week as he was holding me. (He had to hold me because I was grunting really loudly... hey, I was only saying my prayers!)
Today my dad was nice enough to put together my playroom. He went out and bought a bookshelf so I could organize all my books and toys. He took out all the toys I got from Christmas and put them together. It looks great, and I can't wait until I get old enough to experiment with all the fun in there.
That's all for now. Talk to you again soon!

I'm eight weeks old already. Boy, does time fly! It seems like I've been a part of this world for as long as I can remember. Wait... what did I just type?
We all went down to Evansville this weekend, but first, we stopped off at my daddy's work to pick him up. Everybody says I am just like my daddy. Not only do I look like him (and Grammy has the pictures to prove it!), but now they are saying I sound just like him. Apparently, we both like to make lots of weird noises.
The car is a great place to catch up on my rest (like 15-19 hours of sleep a day isn't enough). Most of the time I fall asleep in my car seat before my mommy even has a chance to get it situated in the car. So I slept all the way to and from Evansville.
Once I got there, I got the chance to catch up with my relatives. They couldn't believe how much I've grown. What do people expect me to do... get smaller? Sometimes I wonder about these adults. I have a lot of catching up to do. I want to be BIG like my cousin Justin. It seems like he gets to have all the fun. He is a whole year old. I wonder what I'll be up to when I get to be as big as he is. The only thing I can't figure out is why he keeps crying when Grammy or Aunt Amy holds me. I'm a nice guy. I'm willing to share. I don't take up much space.
My Aunt Carol took a lot of pictures. I am STILL seeing spots. I got her back, though. I gave her a nice big smile. (I've been practicing, you know.) Then I spit up all down the front of her shirt. She's such a good sport. She still wanted to hold me, even after all that.
I even got to meet my Great Grandma Schenk. We went to her house a couple of times. It was fun. She did a great job of holding me so she got one of my smiles without all the mess.
There were a couple of guys there that looked JUST like Grandpa. People called them Uncle Charlie & Uncle David. That Uncle David guy even fooled me a time or two when I wasn't looking very carefully. Uncle Charlie and I hung out. He can really rock (in a rocking chair... he put me right to sleep)!
Now I am ready for a nap. This traveling really takes a lot out of a guy. Talk to you again soon!
