July 9 -- ACA Picnic
Today I went to work with my daddy... well, not REALLY... actually we got to play all day. Every year Peg, the Executive Director of ACA (The American Camping Association where my daddy works), invites all the employees & their families out to her house for the day for a picnic.
Mostly I got to hang out with the ladies. Boy, am I a ladies man! They ALL wanted to hold me. They couldn't get enough of me. It was great. They passed me around & played with me. I just soaked it in & gave out a few smiles to keep them happy.
I also got to go swimming in the pool with Daddy. We splashed and had a ball. Daddy even dunked me a few times, and I didn't mind... much.
There were a few other kids there, and I am looking forward to going back next year so I can play a little more with them. Next year, no more sitting around for me... I'm going to go, go, go!
Talk to you again soon!

Grandparents & Fun Tricks
Tuesday, July 17, 2002 Edition
Sorry I haven't written lately, but I've been BUSY! We had a full house as all of my grandparents were under one roof a couple of weeks ago, AND I have been busy practicing LOTS of new tricks.
First Grammy & Grandpa came to visit and brought Justin with them. We had a lot of fun. Justin really likes my playroom. We all went to a really neat park. It had swings and slides... but it also had water and sand. It was cool... well, actually, it was really HOT outside, but we had a great time. My grandpa also took me for lots of wagon rides in the backyard. Justin pushed his car along side of us. I'm really enjoying my wagon. I sit on the floor so I am nice and supported. It's funny... you can only see my little head peaking out from the sides.
Then Nonna & Grandpa came. (GG and Pip came too!) As a surprise, my Aunt Katie showed up too! We all went to the horse races together. Aunt Katie was the big winner of the night. Of course, I helped her pick some of her horses!
Grammy, Grandpa & Justin left to go back to Evansville & Aunt Katie had to get back to work, too.
Nonna bought me a pool for the backyard and took me swimming. It was fun. I did a lot of splashing. It was a very hot week... so Nonna & Grandpa made me some apple juice ice pops and introduced me to the yummy treat. They also taught me how to stand up. I LOVE IT!!!! It is ALL I want to do these days. I love to pull myself up using someone's fingers and just stand and stand and stand. I can also stand holding on to something... and I can even do it ONE-handed! I have even figured out how to throw a little temper tantrum when Mommy does not bow to my wishes and pull me up when I want to stand.
Now its back to just Mommy, Daddy and me. So I had to figure out something to do with my time... (when I'm not standing up that is). The toys I want sometimes seem out of reach, so I am working on some strategies of how to get them. I am really good at sitting and leaning WAAAAAAAY over to get something. Most of the time I can get myself back up too. I am starting to look like I'm going to go into a crawl from that position... but not yet.
Speaking of crawling... I have started to inch across the floor. (OK, maybe its more like centimeters!) Mommy builds me a tower and I have just got to knock it down.
But, I didn't like it that Mommy was putting me on my stomach so much... so I've figured out how to roll on to my back! I can roll from back to stomach to back. Pretty neat, huh?
Now I just have to figure out how to combine it all to get where I want to go.
Talk to you again soon!

A Week with Nonna & GG
Wednesday, July 31, 2002 Edition
It's been pretty quiet around here today. I finally got a breather to be able to write. It's getting harder & harder to find the time with all the exciting things I've been learning and doing these days!
I just spent a whole 11 days with Nonna & GG (Mommy's mom & grandma). They were here while my grandpa was on the mountain trip. Nonna did a GREAT job of spending time with me while she also managed to redo my bathroom (with a little help from Daddy). I went to LOTS of hardware stores this week!!! She also took me on a lot of walks and let me play in my baby pool. She also helped me to stand up a lot... which I LOVE to do! GG took out us to dinner a few times, and I am quite the restaurant expert these days.
Aunt Katie came for a short visit during the week. We went out for Thai food that evening. She got to play with me a bit. It was fun hanging out with my godmother.
I had a lot of fun watching my Baby Einstein videos with GG. She spent a lot of time playing with me this week. She loved it when I would get bored with my toys and just toss them over my shoulder when I was done. That was quite funny.
Talk to you again soon!
