I LOVE DADDY!!!!!!

Let's see... what HAVE I been up to these days? I am working on my walking. This week I just started walking behind my push-cart. A lot of the times it goes a bit faster than me, and I end up kneeing my way across the floor. I am able to take several steps with it, though. Sometimes I just like to play with the front. I am cruising around the furniture, too. Sometimes, when I am tricky, I can go from couch to coffee table or toy to toy... if they are close enough to each other.
I am really loving my daddy these days. When I wake up in the morning, I look all around for him. If he's taking a shower, I wait until the water shuts off. Then, I smile my biggest smile, because I know that he'll be out in just a second. If I don't see him upstairs, I wait until we go downstairs. Then, I check the kitchen table to see if he's reading his paper. When its time for him to go to work, I give him a big hug & wave goodbye to him.
The BEST part is when he gets home. I can hear him coming in from the garage. I look around & try to find him as fast as I can. I smile my biggest smile again. Then, as soon as I see him, I laugh & laugh & laugh. He likes to get down on all fours & crawl after me. We have a lot of fun.
Of course, I love Mommy, too... but she's always around... you know what I mean?
I am looking at life through a whole new perspective... squinty eyes! I scrunch them up tight and smile. It's so cute. Things look a little different that way. I like it. I am also making all sorts of funny sounds... but that's not anything new.
Unfortunately, I am a little under the weather at the moment. I've had runny noses before, but this is my first BIG cold. I had a tough time sleeping last night. I couldn't breathe through my nose very well, and that made using my pacifier pretty hard. I woke up a lot... which means I woke Mommy up a lot.
Last weekend we celebrated Mommy's birth-weekend. Daddy took Friday off, and we did lots of fun things like go out to dinner, watch a movie, golf, and more. This past weekend I went to ANOTHER movie. It was Veggie Tales Jonah. We went with the Winter family.
This upcoming weekend I am going to see both sets of grandparents again. The Schenks & Drakes are going to make a pit stop at our house Friday night so they can leave early in the morning for Disney World. Then Saturday we are going to the Bovitz house to put in a bathroom floor for them. I'll let you know how it goes!
Talk to you again soon!

Ahhhh... finally... a weekend where we don't have anything planned. Now I can take some time and update you on what I have been up to these last couple of weeks.
First of all, I went to Nonna's to help her put in a new bathroom floor... okay, to be honest, Mommy & Daddy put in the floor while Nonna, Grandpa, GG, and I played all weekend long. The floor looks really nice, and I had lots of fun all weekend long. Luckily, Nonna kept me downstairs so I wouldn't hear some words I wasn't supposed to, because from what I hear, putting in the floor was a little more difficult than Mommy & Daddy anticipated!
Then, Aunt Katie came to visit for the week. She was getting ready to leave for Boston to investigate some job opportunities since she has now graduated from Miami University. She came to see me before I got any bigger. We played a lot and I felt lucky to get to spend so much time with her.
Then, Grammy, Grandpa, Aunt Amy, Uncle Tom & Justin all came back from Disney World. They stayed at my house for the night while they recuperated from their trip. (They had flown out & in from Indy.) We hung around, and I showed Justin all my toys. He liked playing with them. We are playing better together every time we see each other. I love to watch Justin play. He is a lot of fun.
They left, and the very next day we headed down to Evansville for Justin's birthday. (Aunt Katie even came with us!) He is two years old now. He had a "Thomas the Train Engine" birthday. Grammy made him a neat cake. I got to see all my relatives. Justin showed me all his toys. I liked playing with them. He had a fun cave that I got to crawl in. I also liked using his broom. Mommy thought that was a good idea... maybe she will train me early. Justin and I got to go on a wagon ride together as well. It was a good weekend.
I can't believe I am going to be 11 months old next week. Time is flying by!
Talk to you again soon!

Okay, the two don't really have anything to do with one another except for the fact that they are what I have been up to (or down to) this week so far.
Yesterday I went to find out what this "work" thing is. Whenever I look around for Daddy, Mommy always tells me, "Daddy's at work." Well, I had no idea what that meant, so Mommy took me to check it out. (I had totally forgotten that I've been there before... you know how that memory thing is... I think I take after Daddy!) I didn't see many people working, though. They all were smiling and talking to me. They all wanted to know if I am crawling all over the place (yes, I even gave a few demonstrations), am I walking (only if I am holding on to something), do I have teeth (not yet), am I going trick-or-treating (no, but I have a dragon costume that I'm wearing to playgroup tomorrow), and do I sleep through the night (see below). I had lunch with Daddy and several nice ladies. I can't figure out yet why he got a yummy cheeseburger, while I had to eat broccoli & carrots. Mommy took pity on me after I had eaten awhile and gave me some of her French fries & bun. (I love bread!)
Well, Mommy & Daddy FINALLY figured it out. I'm not pulling the wool (or the blankets) over their eyes anymore. They realized that I don't REALLY need to get up in the middle of the night anymore. I'm just doing it for some extra attention. I love it when they come in and pick me up and rock me back to sleep. Then I get a little extra cuddling in. I mean, who would pass up on a little extra cuddling??? Mommy went to the library and got some books. I knew I was in trouble then, so I decided to fix her and not nap that day. Last night I tried the typical little cry to wake Mommy up & get her attention, but nothing happened. So I did it louder. Unfortunately, I did not think all my tactics through... and I was so tired from not napping... that I only lasted 4 1/2 minutes (Mommy counted each one) until I fell back asleep. I rested up and tried it again around 1:00. I lasted a bit longer this time. Mommy came in at 5 minutes, but she was ALL business. She told me to go to sleep, and then she LEFT! I couldn't believe it. I tried once more at 4:00, but it was to no avail. Now everyone is wondering what's going to happen tonight.
Other than that, I'm still making lots of funny faces... and I've learned how to use my pointer finger. That is fun... especially when I try to push the green button on the computer. Daddy is not too happy when that makes the computer turn off.
Well, I'll figure out new ways to make life challenging for Mommy and Daddy!
Talk to you again soon!
