The Five Lovely Ladies
Monday, September 9, 2002 Edition
This Saturday I was visited by five lovely ladies-- my three aunts (Carol, Barb & Kitty), Grammy, and my Great-Grandma Schenk. They drove up from Evansville for the day. I showed them all my toys and how I play with them. We watched my Einstein & 8 month videos too. Even though they were lots of fun, I still got a little overwhelmed and had to make sure that I had Mommy close by (whenever I remembered her).
On Friday & Saturday, Mommy & Aunt Jody had a garage sale. I made sure Mommy didn't sell any of MY toys though. Daddy was lucky enough to be in charge Saturday morning while the two of them got to go out shopping at the other garage sales around the neighborhood. Mommy got me a new swing which Daddy put on the front porch. (There aren't any branches low enough in the yard to work.) She also got me an activity board & an activity table. What fun! She's such a good bargain hunter! Then Grammy brought me a little car that I can ride on when she came up. I am such a lucky little boy.
This week I practiced waving good-bye to Daddy every morning as he went off to work. I wave with my whole arm. It's very cute! (At least Mommy & Daddy think so.) I am also walking (cruisin') around various items that I pull myself up on... like the coffee table & my favorite Nonna-noisy-toy (the yellow one).
I went to the doctor's this week. I weigh 20 lbs 14.4 oz & am 29 inches long. I only had to get one shot (although the nurse tricked me because she initially said I didn't have to get any). I hardly cried at all.
Talk to you again soon!

Life As We Know It
Wednesday, September 18, 2002 Edition
Things have pretty much just been moving along as usual these days. I have been practicing all my new stunts -- clapping, waving, and pulling myself up. I am also working on all kinds of new noises! Of course I am getting lots of pressure to say "mamamama" and dadadada."
This weekend I went to a wedding... well actually, I played with the Winter family while Mommy & Daddy went to the wedding, and then I got to go to the reception. Emily Cahill got married. She is a special friend of Mommy's. Mommy used to babysit her when she was little... and then they became friends later on. I tried to hold out for the dancing... I really like it when Mommy & Daddy twirl me around, but I just couldn't do it. We left early so I could get to bed.
I also watched the Colts game with Daddy... until I had to take a nap. (I'm telling you, this sleep thing gets in the way of a lot of fun!)
Talk to you again soon!

When It Rains...

It seems like when I see one set of grandparents... then I see the other!! This past weekend Nonna, Grandpa & GG came and visited. They were here to help celebrate Mommy's birthday. We went apple picking which was a lot of fun. I got to ride in my Baby Bjorn with Grandpa, and he let me help him get some apples. Nonna helped me eat apple cider slushie. Then later that night, I got to eat some of the apple pie we made. Yummy!
Monday & Tuesday, Daddy was in Tennessee working. He gave two talks at a conference. Soooooooo.... Mommy packed me up, and we went down to Evansville to visit Grammy & Grandpa. It was a great visit. Monday I hung out with Grammy and my two cousins, Justin & Sophie. Sophie's new sister was born that weekend. Her name is Sadie. That night we got to go to the hospital and see her. She's a cutie. (Sophie & Sadie are daughters of Daddy's cousin, Lori.) I got to see my GREAT Aunt Carol on Monday AND Tuesday! Tuesday I spent with Grandpa & Justin. We went and had lunch at Great-Grandma Schenk's. She fixed us up a feast! It was delicious. Justin and I played hide-and-seek all around the house. Then Aunt Amy & Uncle Tom came over for dinner at Grammy's. It was a very nice dinner to celebrate Mommy's birthday. Grammy gave me a bath, and we left soon after so that I could sleep on the way home.
Speaking of rain, we had a BIG rain storm on Friday. There were several tornadoes nearby. When I was taking my nap, the sirens were going off around here, but luckily they didn't come too close! That morning I went to the Children's Museum for the first time with Alex & Delaney. It was a lot of fun. I got down and crawled & played in Playscape. I am looking forward to going back soon!
Happy Birthday, Mommy!
Talk to you again soon!
