August 2004 Article
We started the month with a cookout at Uncle Buddy's down in Orleans, Indiana. We had fun eating & swimming in his pool. Grammy & Grandpa and the Drake Family (Aunt Amy, Uncle Tom, Justin & Isabelle) were there too. The very next day, we drove to Spencer, Indiana and had another cookout at Daddy's Executive Director's house for his whole office. That was LOTS of driving and LOTS of food for two days! Mommy also started watching Kacy, a girl from our playgroup, every Monday & Wednesday for a few hours. Noah & I really like playing with her!
Hopefully, you have already read about our GREAT trip to Washington that we took the second week of August. While we were gone, our next door neighbors, Isaac & Olivia moved. That made us very sad!
The day after we got home, we did even MORE driving (for which blessedly I was asleep for MOST of!) and went to Ohio to see two of Mommy's friends from college and their kids. There were 10 kids there... and only 3 boys! Noah & I were WAY outnumbered... but the girls took good care of us :)
That same night Aunt Amy & Grammy drove up with Isabelle & Justin to our house. They didn't arrive until I was already asleep. They spent a couple of days here. On Thursday we went to the Children's Museum and saw the new Dinosphere. Unfortunately, I'm not quite into dinosaurs myself yet... but we DID get up to Playscape which is more my style. On Friday we went to a new Chick-Fil-A by our house and played on their indoor playset. We also just hung around the house and played with our toys. Grammy stayed through the weekend and went to the Indiana State Fair with us on Saturday. The Winter Family came too. We had LOTS of fun.
As soon as everyone left, Mommy finally decided to pull in the reins! She is NO longer feeding me at night & I am expected to sleep through the night. Now that I am nearing one year old, I think I have finally decided to cooperate... and so far I am doing a nice job of sleeping at least until 5:00.
We celebrated our TWO year anniversary with our playgroup at the end of this month. We had a brunch at Hunter's house. We ate lot of good food and of course.... played!
It has been a tremendously busy month... and on top of it all, I have been working on my walking. I can push my push-cart all the way across the room. I love to hold on to one or two of Mommy or Daddy's fingers and walk wherever they will let me take them. I am also eating oatmeal with a spoon at breakfast time (as long as Mommy will help me get it on the spoon). I love to crawl up the stairs (except Mommy & Daddy have found me out & put up a gate... darn!). I am also starting to wave bye-bye when I'm in the mood. I love to play with any cars I can get my hands on... but Matchbox are my favorite! I am a busy, busy boy!
Bye for now,
Adam
