February 2004 Article
This month lots of new & exciting things happened! I enjoy using my hands to grasp things & love to bring them to my mouth. I sat up all by myself for the first time on February 6. During the same week, I also learned to hold my head up really high when I was lying on my stomach. I got to play in my megasaucer and sit up at the dinner table for the first time as well. On January 21, I rolled from my stomach to my back for the first time... several times! I am learning LOTS of new & exciting things!
Noah is talking a lot more as well. He started learning about colors at Nonna & Grandpa's, but now he really knows them. Purple is his favorite color (when in doubt it is purple or yellow). He likes to count things (except they all come out to TWO... his favorite number!) He also is interested in letters with O and A being his favorites. He knows some of his shapes too... hearts and circles... and he loves to draw them (circles a little more accurately than hearts).
We went to Evansville over Valentine's weekend for a baby shower for Katie Schenk. We went to Great-Grandma's house Saturday morning, then went to Aunt Amy's house for lunch. Noah got to play with Justin. I can't say I actually played with Isabelle, but one of these days we are going to be pals. That night, Noah stayed and went to church with Grammy & Grandpa while I went on a hot date with Mommy & Daddy. They FINALLY got to see the third Lord of the Rings movie.... well... let me take that back & tell you how it REALLY went. They both got to see about the first hour of the movie while I nursed or napped. Then I was all full & not very tired... and a little upset that they tried to take me to this 3 1/2 hour movie. It was a BAD choice. I wanted to see a love story or something like that. I mean, after all, it was Valentine's Day. Ohhhhhh nooooo! They take me to this violent and NOISY movie. I was a little scared. I kept jumping and crying at all the LOUD noises. Daddy had to take me out in the hallway to play with me. Then Daddy told Mommy when she came out that we were OK, and she could watch the rest of the movie. To top it all off, we got to drive thru McDonald's for dinner on this memorable date. Daddy is so romantic. :-)
On President's Day we went out to lunch with Mom's good friends Emily (Cahill) Hines & Lucy Cahill. Then we went to see Emily's new house. Noah really took to Emily... so much that he kept calling her Katie!
Next week we are going to visit Nonna & Grandpa while Daddy flies to San Francisco for ACA's annual national conference.
Bye for now,
Adam
