January 2004 Article
We spent the first few weeks of the new year recuperating from the holidays and all the sickness. We just enjoyed the peace and quiet (not that we didn't enjoy all the visitors when they were here as well) and rejoiced that we were all well once again. It was a pretty quiet month overall.
We also...
met a new babysitter named Kelly.
helped out a friend from playgroup who just had twin baby brothers by taking her to playgroup & the library with us while her mommy got some sleep & time with the boys.
Noah & I took our first (of many I'm sure) bath together.
went to Chuck E. Cheese and also had a pitch-in with our playgroup.
We spent Martin Luther King Jr. Day with Daddy at his work. We helped him to fix up 25 of his old computers so that people at work could take them home and use them. Noah & I played with our toys and were really good boys. I tried to help out sometimes. I'm trying to learn all about computers at an early age. We ended up needing to go the next Saturday as well.
In January, I decided Mommy was getting WAY too much sleep... so I'm waking up MUCH more often. I decided I really like to eat as often as possible... so I'm trying to eat every 2 hours.... day AND night. Sometimes to mix things up a bit, I wake up after 1 1/2 hours. I found out that I am not as BIG as my brother was at this age, so I'm doing everything I can to catch up!
I am working on my sitting up. I can't do it by myself, but I like the view when Mommy helps me to balance. I am exercising my muscles by doing baby sit-ups whenever I get the chance.
Noah is working on going to the potty. He likes to sit on the potty AFTER he poops. He is pretty successful at peeing on the potty when he chooses to sit on it. He actually likes the big potty instead of the potty chair. We are not ready for "official" potty training yet by any means.
The BEST thing about January happened at the end. Aunt Katie came to visit from LA. I got to meet her for the very first time. She flew into Columbus & we drove over to meet her at Nonna & Grandpa's. She is a LOT of fun. She spent lots of time holding me and playing with Noah. We celebrated a late Christmas. She got me some diapers (they were on my Christmas list :) and Noah some cute clothes from Venice Beach (where she lives in LA). We had a surprise visitor for lunch on Saturday... it was Nana! She flew in from Boston for the day! She came to Tim Horton's with us on Sunday for our regular donut trip, then she flew back home again. Noah loved going in the basement to play the piano-- or better yet-- to find Nonna's guitar and coax her into playing. Sometimes he would play the tambourine as accompaniment. (Afterwards, whenever he saw a guitar, he would say, "Nonna! Guitar!") On Monday, we learned the Katie was extending her trip a bit... so Daddy took the bus home so he could go to work and Mommy, Noah & I stayed. We went to the mall with Aunt Katie and hung around for two extra days. It was great. It really was a perfect visit... except for the fact that Aunt Katie had to leave at the end of it!
Bye for now,
Adam
