Memorial Day Weekend - May 2004
We spent Memorial Day weekend in Evansville with Grammy & Grandpa. We arrived on Friday night, just in time for my bedtime... and for Daddy to watch most of the Pacer game.
On Saturday we went to Great-Grandma Schenk's house. I made every one happy by smiling at them. They made me happy by smiling back. It was a real love fest. Noah & Justin had fun playing with all Great-Grandma's toys. Then they talked Daddy & Uncle Tom into taking them outside. I got really tired, but I was having so much fun, I wouldn't put my head on anyone's shoulder to go to sleep. Grammy finally got me to sleep, and we went back to her house so Noah & I could nap. That evening we went to Aunt Amy's to have dinner.
Sunday was picnic time. After mass we headed over to Aunt Carol's house. We spent the day avoiding rain by ducking in the garage when we needed to. Mostly, it was a nice day (even though other areas around Indiana were having tornadoes!). Noah played his first "game" of washers, enjoyed playing with the bubbles, and loved sitting & playing on the front porch with Justin. I hung out and smiled at whoever would look at me. There was LOTS of good food to eat... but I only got carrots (which I actually like) and Cheerios (which I love).
On Monday we headed to Holiday World. Grammy, Grandpa, Aunt Amy, Uncle Tom, Justin & Isabelle came too. We met Aunt Jody, Uncle Fred, Alex & Delaney there. It was a BIG party! The big kids had LOTS of fun riding all the rides. All I got to ride was my stroller. This is becoming a familiar theme. When do I get to have fun, too??? Mommy says next year, but that seems like an awfully far time away. I protested by not taking a nap when they wanted... but finally fell asleep in... you guessed it... my stroller. I did get to ride the antique cars with Daddy and the jeep with Grammy & Grandpa. I loved it & kicked my feet in excitement the whole time. We stayed all day until finally Noah had enough. Mommy put him on a ride with Justin & he started crying. He was so tired. He took a nap in the car on the way home... but I didn't. I waited for Noah to wake up so we could play our favorite game. Noah tries to make me laugh... so he laughs. Then I laugh. Then Noah says, "YaYa (his way of saying Adam) is laughing at me." It is a lot of fun. I love it when Noah pays attention to me.
It was a great weekend!
At home I am just about ready to crawl. I want to move so badly! I get frustrated a lot when I can't get what I want. I am tired of sitting in the same old spot & playing with whatever Mommy thinks I want. I am either going to crawl... or walk. I can't decide. I am really working on standing up. I attack Mommy whenever she gets near so I can grab on her & try & pull myself up. I want to stand up all the time.
Mommy is STILL trying to get me to sleep through the night. It is frustrating for both of us.
I am babbling a lot. I like to make myself heard. I also like it when people talk to me & I can talk back. I have lots of interesting conversations... if nobody will talk to me, I just talk to myself.
Bye for now,
Adam
