Trip to Columbus & Cincinnati - May 2004
We started out our May vacation with a trip to Columbus with Mommy. She attended a baby shower for her friend Olivia. Daddy stayed at home to continue working on digging a huge hole in the backyard for my play set.
We had a GREAT time with Nonna & Grandpa. They brought up all our toys from the basement & we played inside the first day because it was raining. They spoiled us rotten & we loved it! The next day was Sunday, so we headed to church and then Tim Horton's to get donuts. Noah had a chocolate one which he got ALL over his face. I had baby food. Somehow, I just don't think it tastes the same as that donut. My smile sure wasn't as big as Noah's! After that it was work time. Grandpa was digging a BIG hole is HIS backyard too... only his friend Ed (who is about 15 years old) has his own big huge tractor with a shovel on it. Ed let me ride on it & help him drive it. I had LOTS of fun.
On Monday, Nonna had to go back to work... but Grandpa took us to the Columbus Zoo. It was fun. Noah was hopping like a kangaroo and climbing all over the statues they have there. Mommy's favorite thing we saw was the manatee. They were in a neat tank where you could see their noses come up for some air. After the zoo, we had breakfast for lunch with some of Mommy's friends. They loved me & fought over who got to hold me :). I smiled at them lots. Carli fed me my food & Noah ate some yummy eggs.
On Tuesday we left to meet Daddy & the Winters in Cincinnati. Noah & I both slept in the car on the way there so we would be ready for the fun. We had lunch at a place called "The Music Palace." It was a place where a BIG Wurlitzer organ comes out of the floor. All of the kids were mesmerized. It was lots of fun. Noah loved to dance in his seat. They even played some Jimmy Buffet for Aunt Jody. After lunch, we went to Parky's farm and saw some animals. We went on a little walk through the woods. Mommy liked it because the emphasis was on little. We played on the playground and then went to get some ice cream. We decided to head back to the hotel & swim in the pool. Then we went to dinner at Macaroni Grill.
The next day we went to the Cincinnati Zoo. It is an awesome zoo! We had LOTS of fun. The zoo had lots of trees, so it was nice & cool. It had LOTS of animals too. Unfortunately, Noah fell down at the beginning & scraped his knee. He was a little sad for the rest of the trip. But that meant I got to get out of my stroller (while he rode in it) & ride on some backs. I liked watching all the people more than the animals. I got tired at the end and fell asleep in my stroller. We stayed at the zoo a long time. Then Noah went back to the hotel & took a nap. We went to Ponderosa for dinner. I was wiped out! Mommy & I went back to the hotel so I could sleep while everyone else went to a park.
Our last day we went to the Children's Museum. I got to get out of the stroller & play! It was a bunch of fun. They had a little kids (4 and under) area called Little Sprouts Farm. Noah and I spent plenty of time there. I liked the balls the best. Noah liked putting balls in a rollercoaster the best. We went to lunch upstairs in the food court & then went back to play some more! There were lots of pretend play areas. We dug some rocks, beat on some drums, played house & drove a bus. There was so much fun to be had, we stayed all day long! Finally, we were so tired, we left for home.
Noah & I were so sad to leave... that we cried the last hour of the trip. Oh no!
Bye for now,
Adam
