*When Eileen was 18, she worked at Hoosier Lamp & Stamping as a riveter on P475s for 18 months. Then she stuffed sausage and made the packaging.

Obituary for Eileen Schenk:
Eileen Helen (Dunkel) Schenk, age 88, of Evansville, passed away Wednesday, July 17, 2013 at the Good Samaritan Home.
Mrs. Schenk was a homemaker, but had worked for Weil Packing Company and Hoosier Cardinal many years ago. She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church and a former member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church.
Surviving Eileen are two daughters, Barbara Sue (Larry) Conner and Carol Ann Schenk, both of Evansville; four sons, Thomas (Lois) Schenk, David (Debbie) Schenk, Roger (Linda) Schenk and Charles Schenk, all of Evansville; one brother, Warren Dunkel of Evansville and sisters-in-law, Helen Schenk of Evansville and Peggy Dunkel of Mt. Carmel, IL. Also surviving are seven grandchildren, Thomas Schenk, Jr., Amy Drake, Lori Schulz, John Schenk, Rebecca McElhannon, Sarah Canada and Rusty Conner and thirteen great grandchildren. Eileen was very proud that all seven of her grandchildren had graduated from college.
Eileen was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Ferdinand Schenk; by three sisters, Amelia Moeller, Mary Etta Agers, and Geneva Young and a brother, Harry Dunkel.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, July 22, 2013 at St. Anthony Catholic Church. Entombment will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
Friends may visit with the family from 2:00 until 7:00 P.M. on Sunday at Pierre Funeral Home, 2601 W. Franklin Street, where there will be a memorial service conducted by the church at 3:00 P.M. Friends may also visit with the family from 9:30 A.M. until service time on Monday at St. Anthony Church.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Anthony Catholic Church, 704 N. 1st Avenue, Evansville, IN 47710 or to the Epidermolysis Bullosa Medical Research Foundation (EBMRF), 2757 Anchor Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90064.
