He was a semi-pro boxer in his youth. He stopped because the smoked filled boxing arenas... the smoke hurt his eyes. He sparred with the great Jack Dempsey.

*Agatha was called "Grocy" which was German for Grandma. Her name could be Agnes. She owned a candy factory down in the Bronx that the family claims came up with the original "Tootsie Roll". She & John F. King lived in the same house in their old age with the rest of the family. She died at the age of 93.
**Great-grandma Evelyn used to send us money on every single birthday. She would send it a couple of days before your birthday, so it was how you knew it was coming! She was born July 12, 1911 in the Bronx and died in 1995 in Virginia. She was a school teacher.
***Jack lived from 1912-1932 in New York. He died of heart trouble. He loved motorcycles. He owned one and drove very fast on it.
